COURSE MOTIVATOR:  Routine leads to complacency, complacency leads to mistakes, and mistakes lead to deaths. The news media routinely reports an officer killed on a “routine” traffic stop or a “routine” warrant service. If these calls were routine, the officer would not have been killed. The course is a reminder of the calls that tend to be routine and the actions an ECP can take to avoid falling into complacency.

APPROVED STATES: Texas, Georgia, Missouri

TARGET AUDIENCE:  9-1-1 Emergency Communication Professionals (Dispatchers & Calltakers)

PASS RATE: Students must score 75% on the knowledge checkpoints and 80% on the final examination.
